Individual Dance Items

Item #1

  • Title:Winged Wolves and The Bamboo Mew
  • Item Synopsis / Program Notes:

Winged Wolves and the Bamboo Mew initiates its creative process by using Frühlings Erwachen (Spring Awakening) as a catalyst. It depicts the struggles of a group of pubertal adolescents trying to come to terms with their burgeoning sexual desires. The tragedy of adolescents lies in the fact that they are left alone with their questions, doubts, longings, feelings of guilt by their parents and teachers, which results in fatal consequences in some cases. It attacks the disciplinarian and prudish society of his day; a society that does considerable harm, with its attempt to cover up and suppress sexual desires.
