A deserted island may bring excitement, or it may bring danger. It may be all about sunny white sand beaches, or perhaps, something else could be lurking in the shadows. Only those who go ashore will find out. This time round, Kwang Tung Dance Company (KTDC) invites three choreographers – Amy Len, Loh Kok Man and Jack Kek, to jointly explore the possibilities that such an island can offer. They will draw inspiration from their years of experience in dance, in theatre, and in life, to create three unique and brand new pieces of work.

The white veil is a metaphor for death, while it also explores the aesthetic senses and quality of women. These young women wearing the white veils are like blushing brides seemingly awaiting their own weddings, but in the face of imminent death, it further reveals a deeper strength and character. The white veil can be like a tranquil and undisturbed realm, yet at the same time, it can also be a looming and threatening thunderstorm. The call of death infuses a revitalizing element of physical expression, and women’s intricate and diverse perspectives of life are all well hidden beneath every fold and ripple of the white veils.
