Activist Hishamuddin Rais’s agit-prop play, which was critical of the leadership of Tun Dr Mahathir, was performed at street demonstrations around the country from 1998 – 2001. On 1 Feb 2001, the police disrupted a performance at Hotel Antarabangsa KL and the work was subsequently banned.
