Menua Kitai – A Sada Borneo Theatrical Concert (2018)

Synopsis

Dewan Budaya and School of the Arts, USM with the support of the Ministry of Tourism and Culture Malaysia (MOTAC), Penang are proud to present the first theatrical concert held in Penang, “Menua Kitai: A Sada Borneo Theatrical Concert” on 13 and 14 April 2018 at the Dewan Budaya Auditorium, USM Penang!

“Menua Kitai” in the Iban language which means “Our Land” is a theatrical concert performance which combines the elements of traditional and modern music from the land of Borneo presented by the Sada Borneo band (USM Alumni and also the AXN’s Asia’s Got Talent Semi-finalist in 2015). In this live performance of Menua Kitai, audiences will be transcended into a musical world with unique contemporary dance movement performed by KakiTari dance troupe.

“Menua Kitai” theatrical concert tells the importance of balance between human and nature and it highlights environmental issues that ultimately leads to climate change and global warming. The story is about a society that becomes greedy with natural resources, and consume more than they need and become ungrateful towards the land.
