The Secret Life Of Nora (2011)

Synopsis

In glitzy and glamorous 1960’s Malaya, two of the most unlikely people find themselves bound together by a mission to eradicate the threat of an evil operation. Nora is pulled out of her sheltered world by Roger Foss, a suave British secret agent, to become the spy organization’s newest recruit. Lost in a world where missions need completing, contraptions need destroying and baddies need capturing – Nora and Roger seek to rescue the victims, but ultimately, they find each other.

Nora, a popular but protected prima donna, receives an invitation to a movie screen test. Khatijah, her best buddy and long-time nanny, tags along for the audition, where Nora is awarded the leading role by Farouk, the “producer”.

Unbeknown to Nora, Farouk is in fact part of a secret spy organization. He is partnered with an elite spy trainer (and British gent). Roger Foss. They are charged by head of operations, “Hong Kong”, to infiltrate a mysterious menace in town – J Heart’s New New World cabaret. Suspicious on-goings have been sighted, and only J Heart’s biggest obsession – Nora, will be able to close the distance for the mission to succeed.

Nora is put through intensive training, convinced that she is preparing for the role of Nora Zain. Gritting her teeth through physical torture, obstacles, code language and broken nails, Nora emerges triumphant.

Nora has to overcome her fears and doubts to stand strong against what is ahead. As the seconds tick down on the lives of victims, she straps on her spy accessories and enters the unknown, geared up for the performance of her lifetime.
