According to the programme, this production of “Emily of Emerald Hill” was a final year student project by the actress Sue Ann Gooi for her BA (Performing Arts) requirements for the Pusat Seni faculty at Universiti Sains Malaysia, Penang. The first run was held at Panggung Sasaran in January 1995, followed by a fundraiser for the Women’s Crisis Centre at Dewan Budaya in August, and The Actors Studio Theatre in November.
