Chen Xi Wu Yun 晨曦舞韵 (1990)

(A) Cang Ying 蒼鹰

Cang Ying is a Chinese Mongol ethnic dance. Mongolian dance has always been known for its boldness and roughness, especially “shake shoulders” is an indispensable movement of Mongolian dance.

蒼鷹是一個蒙古族的午蹈。蒙族午一向是以豪邁,粗曠見稱。尤其是「抖肩」更是蒙族干少不了的動作。

(B) Shan Zi 扇子

Shan Zi is a Chinese Han ethnic dance. Han dance is meticulous and varied. At the same time, this fan dance is based on the combination of “Dong Bei Yang Ge” (North East Yang Ge).

扇子是一個漢族午,漢族午以動作細緻,變化多端。同時,這個扇午是以「東北秧歌」的組合為主。

(C) Xiao Yu Er 小魚兒

This is a Chinese Dai ethnic dance. Dai people are staying close to the border of Thailand. Their dance styles are somewhat similar to Thai dances. At the same time, they love nature. In their dance, they use natural flowers, fish, birds, etc as the main theme of the dance. The movements often give people a sense of relaxation, softness and leisure.

這是一個傣族午蹈。傣族是一個接近泰國邊境的民族。他們的午姿也與泰國午有些相似,同時,他們愛好大自然,午姿中也多以大自然的花、魚,鳥等為午蹈之主旨。動作中亦常給予人一種松慵,柔和以及悠閒的感覺。

Sleeve dance uses throwing, tossing, dragging and scalping of sleeve to present the entire dance movements.

袖午是一個以水袖的拋,擲,拖,大刀花等動作呈現整個午姿。

The burial of flowers is based on a section of the Qing Dynasty novel Dream of the Red Chamber, describing Lin Dai Yu, who couldn’t bear to see the falling flowers, so she buried them one by one. This also reflects how insignificant and helpless women were in the feudal era.

葬花是取材自清朝小說紅樓夢中之一段,描寫林黛玉他不忍見片片落花予人殘踏,於是,把落花都一一埋了。這也反影了封建時代,女性是如何之渺小,如何之無奈。

This is a dance drama, depicting the era of the early Republic of China. The two brothers crossed the ocean and came south. They went through all kinds of hardships, the elder brothers finally took root here, however the younger brother was lazy so only end up on the streets. The elder brother had no choice but help his young brother, as he deeply believe in the ancestral mottos. Finally, the two brothers work together to help the next generation.

這是一個午劇,描寫民初時代,二兄弟渡海南來到此,為兄的歷盡各種困苦,終於能在此落地生根,而為弟的好高驚遠,好吃懒做,最后只能淪落街頭,不過,扶助弟弟亦是我們祖訓之一,為兄的能漠視弟弟的淪落嗎?最后,二兄弟同心協力,為扶助下一代而努力。

“On the battlefield to conquer the guests, the cold and bitterness are like sleep,
The battle robe is hand-made, who knows who is going to do it?
Deliberately add more lines, more affectionate,
This life is over, and the next life will be re-formed. ”

This was during the reign of Emperor Xuan Zong of the Tang Dynasty. In a cold clothing sent to the frontier, a soldier suddenly found this little poem, and the soldier shown it to the chief, the chief was also deeply moved. In the end, the incident reached the emperor’s ears, and the emperor ordered a thorough investigation. There was a maid who claimed to be dead, begging the emperor to renounce her sin. In the end, the emperor not only forgave her, but also betrothed her to the soldier.

「沙場征戍客,寒苦若為眠,
戰袍經手作,知落阿誰邊?
蓄意多添線,含情更著綿,
今生已過也,重結后生緣。」

這是在唐玄宗年間,在一次送往邊疆的寒衣中,一名將士忽發現了這首小詩,這名將士把這首詩。交給長官看,長官也深為感動,最后,這事終傳致皇帝耳中,皇帝下令徹查。有一宮女自稱萬死,求皇帝忽罪,最后,皇帝不但宽恕了她,還把她許配給那名將士。

This is a Korean children’s dance. In these children’s dances, we can see the innocence of childhood.

這是一個韓國的兒童午,在這些兒童午中,我們可以看到兒時的童真。

This dance drama is based on the work of Ruan Hao Wen, a poet from Yuan Dynasty. One day when he was wandering on the mountains and along the water, he saw a hunter shoot a goose with a bow. Once the hunter got one down, the other goose crowed in the air, flew and hit the tree and died. Hao Wen was inspired by wild geese’s loyalty hence he bought the pair, buried them in the soil, and erected a monument on it, called “Yan Qiu“.

這個午劇是取材自元朝詩人阮好問的作品。這是一天他在遊山玩水之際,見一獵人張弓射雁,他射下了一只雁后,另一只雁在空中長鳴一聲,復投身樹上撞樹而死,好問见其忠貞買下雙雁,埋於土中,復在其上立下一碑,是名「雁邱」。

Embroidery dance describes the feelings of a girl to be married, happy but afraid to show it, yearning and embarrassed.

绣午是描寫待嫁少女的情懷,高興又不敢顯露。向往而又含羞的心境。

In ancient times, people thought that there was a god manipulating everything in nature. Therefore, all hopes in life were placed on the gods. This Ying Shen is based on this subject and expresses the devotion to welcome the gods using contemporary dance.

古代人們對於大自然的一切,都以為有神在操縱,所以,對人生的一切希望,都寄托於神明上,迎神就是以這個主旨,以現代午的方法表現出迎神的虔誠。
