The Malaysian Censorship Board (LPF) cut a scene from the live action film featuring a gay character, Le Fout, with chairman of the LPF Datuk Abdul Halim Abdul Hamid saying it was “inappropriate because many children will be watching this movie”. Disney refused to allow the cut, leading to the LPF to ban the film. Following a public outcry, the film was allowed to be screened, uncut.
