“DANSON” originated from an ancient German word which carries the meaning “to stretch.” However, in the English and Malay language “DANSON” is characterized together simply as ‘a dance’. In the context of “DANSON” – ‘a dancer’ is appreciated as a formation of basic bodily stretching and flexing movements of a dancer in means of creating the expression of one’s inner feelings and emotions.
“DANSON” will be staged by Department of Culture, Arts, Tourism and Sports, City Hall of Kuala Lumpur. This performance is a collaboration of artistic effort by our in-house choreographers as well as freelancers, culminates in a colourful presentation. Here, the City Hall Culture Troupe will act as a medium in the exhibition of myriad expressions of feelings and emotions amongst themselves, blossoming into a creative choreography of a contemporary dance performances.
