The Tragicomedy Of Errors 錯誤的悲喜劇 (2018)
Synopsis
Due to the mismanagement of the theatre personnel, two theatre companies were forced to rehearse at the same place. One rehearses the poignant play about an interracial relationship that was separated by the borders during the modern history, while another story was adapted from one of the greatest poet Tao Yuanming’s comedy- A depressed and anxious fisherman trespassed the Peach Blossom Land by accident, isolated from the troubled world yet insisted to go home.
As the two groups struggle for control of the stage, resulting in chaos and numerous comic squabbles, their contrasting worlds begin to come together, creating surprising new layers of meaning that are tragically moving and comically erroneous.
因為劇場管理員安排失誤，演出日期在即的兩個劇組被迫在同一個場地進行排練。現代悲劇《暗戀》講述一段近代歷史洪流中分隔兩地的異族戀情，一個老病纏身的男人苦苦尋覓舊情人的消息，想與她再見一面；另一部古代喜劇《桃花源》則改編自陶淵明的詩作，苦悶憂愁的漁夫誤闖桃花源，隔離於亂世之外卻執意要回家。兩個劇組堅持使用場地的過程中免不了爭執，期間佈景混亂、對白交錯，兩個差異的主題竟意外合拍，巧妙呈現一部錯誤的悲喜劇。
《錯誤的悲喜劇》兼並抒情與反諷、含蓄與張揚的風格，以悲傷、幽默、笑鬧詮釋荒謬卻真實的日常生命情境。《暗戀》與《桃花源》的表演屢遭阻擾與中止，不斷提醒觀眾這是一部劇中劇的設計。兩則敘事透露不同的人共同的期許與遺憾，對立又可互相呼應，悲欣交集的和諧當中帶有衝突，反之亦然。
