Synopsis
George Orwell’s scathing destruction of the dictatorial govermance of Communism, Animal Farm was written in 1945. Yet, what is its relevance today? Previously staged in 2008, Pentas Project will boldly question again the complications of power and greed, capitalizing upon the boiling discontentment of the people, strange political and social phenomena which is real for many up to today.
Winner of Best Director, Best Set Design and Best Costume Design at the 7th Boh Cameronian Awards in 2009 and previewed at Shanghai International Contemporary Theatre Festival in 2010, this shattering story of totalitarianism, desire greed and corruption will compel you to the worst of human weaknesses.
農莊的動物們推翻了人的統治，建立了動物當家作主的“動物農莊”，想實現“所有動物一律平等”的理想。而事實卻是以公豬拿破崙為首的豬成了高高在上的統治階級。
《動物農莊》為喬治。奧威爾的傳世之作，被公認為二十世紀最傑出的政治寓言。2008年，平台計劃以《動物農莊》演出大膽叩問權力鬥爭的闇黑糾葛，嘲諷極權、慾望與貪焚統治集團下的腐敗政權，隱然呼應現實社會光怪陸離的政治民生異象。首次演出即獲得觀眾極大迴響。
此作品於2009年榮獲第七屆金馬倫藝術獎最佳導演，最佳舞台設計及最佳服裝設計。並於2010受邀到上海當代戲劇季演出
